Riding against a tough european field in the Frederic Mistral XC race in Central France, Pearce Cycles Race Team rider James Williams came home first Brit in the 19-29 category. The gruelling 42kms single loop was based in the Monts de Blond area, and was a mix of technical trails and rural chemins. "It was tough, I'm not kiddin' there were rocks as big as houses!!! My S-Works Epic was the perfect bike for the job. It allowed to to keep pushing on when others were having to back off!", said an exhausted but elated JW after the event.

Meanwhile veteran racer Steve Bennett took the honours in the Vet B category with his second win in two weeks. "It was very tough, and a battle right down to the last few kilometers. After the final road crossing I put in an attack and got away from my nearest rival. My S-Works hardtail was the perfect bike for today. I could hardly believe how fast she carried me down those last few k!!!", said a euphoric Bennett after crossing the line.
