National Downhill Championships Rider Information
ELIGIBILITY
The National Championships are open to British Cycling licence holders only.In addition to a valid licence you must also have gained at least five national ranking points in the 2007 or 2008 race seasons.

JuvenileRiders aged 12-14 years on 31st December 2008
Championship category - Medal and jersey awarded
Youth
Riders aged 15-16 years on 31st December 2008
Championship category - Medal and jersey awarded
Junior
Riders aged 17-18 years on 31st December 2008
Championship category - Medal and jersey awarded
Veteran
Riders aged 40-49 years on 31st December 2008
Championship category - Medal and jersey awarded
Grand Veteran
Riders aged 50+ years on 31st December 2008
Championship category - Medal and jersey awarded
Master
Riders aged 30-39 years on 31st December 2008
Championship category - Medal and jersey awarded
Senior
Riders aged 19+ years on 31st December 2008 with a Senior race licence.
Non-championship category - No medal or jersey awarded.
Riders will receive Senior category ranking points.
Elite
Riders aged 19+ years on 31st December 2008 with an Expert or Elite race licence.
Championship category - Medal and jersey awarded
Senior licence holders are able to enter the Elite category but will not be eligible for Senior category ranking points.
Expert licence holders will receive ranking points based on their finishing positions within Expert riders, and are therefore not penalised for having to race within Elite.
UCI Points: UCI points are available to riders who enter the Elite category only. This would include Expert riders and those Senior riders who choose to ride Elite. Within the UCI rulebook (see page 59) there is a table which details the number of points available. Points go down to 25th place, with more than 20 points available to the top 11 finishers.
SIGN-ON
Please remember to bring your valid British Cycling racing licence to registration. Number boards will be issued at registration.There will be a charge for spectator parking on Sunday. It's important that you pick-up a Rider Pass when you sign-on to ensure you are not charged for parking on Sunday.

Hot and cold refreshments will be available from Friday lunchtime.Camping is available from Thursday evening. It is not necessary to book camping space. There is provision for tents, caravans and campers on a separate flat field adjacent to the finish arena. There will be a charge for camping, collected by the Landowner - £2.50 per person per night. You are advised to use the one-way system marked on approach and to follow the marshal’s instructions when first arriving at the venue.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide drinking water at this venue. The caterers will sell bottled drinking water, but we recommend you bring your own water with you to the venue.
Basic chemical toilets are available.
