Pearce Team compete at Mountain Mayhem
Ten brave souls made up the Pearce Cycles 10x team at the recent Mountain Mayhem at Eastnor Castle. Team Captain Graham Oliver managed to persuade/cajole his wife Lana, dad Dave, work colleague Dickie Brazier, mates Adam Baker,Alex Mutch, Mark and Sarah Povey, Penny Cooper and Lindsey Pearce to tackle the challenging 9 mile course.Running order was Dickie first man off , the girls during the daylight, the lads did the twilight and night time laps, then whoever felt they could do more laps carried on.
Various hiccups occurred – Sarah administered First Aid on course to a rider with a broken arm, Alex punctured and Mark broke a chain, Lindsey turned into Kate on her second lap!
However the teams clocked up 17 laps in 24 hours 44mins and 59 secs – 21st out of 30 no mean feat with the amount of training some had not done.
James Williams entered the Solo category and set off at a steady pace, things were looking good. He clocked up7 laps but at midnight unfortunately had to pull out with severe stomach pains and generally unwell.
As usual it was a massive event , with hundreds of competitors. The combination of great weather, good company, team spirit and support made it a very enjoyable weekend.
