Pearce Cycles Hopton MTB Trails

Hopton woods panel final map

The Pearce Cycles Trails at Hopton Woods have become classics over the years.

Built out of goodwill by the team at Pearce Cycles. Months and months of hard graft resulted in the absolutely cracking trails that we now have.

Sort of like a trail centre. But not a trail centre! Mostly natural surface trails. Roots and mud, rocks and even dust on occasions! This is a waymarked trail with a difference. It feels like an all natural trail for the most part but with berms and small jumps here and there.

From the car park, Dave's descent has you grinning straight away and it doesn't stop. Until you get all the way round to Carol's climb that is, a brutal climb about half way around will test your legs and lungs. It doesn't last long though before you are back up to speed on fast flowing singletrack.

12.5 Km of stunning trail.

There are also the three downhill tracks on which we hold a round of our DH race series each year. Tracks requiring a higher level of skill and experience but still all roll-able. Surfaces are still natural and rooty but more technical the whole way down.

Check out the review from MBR magazine here.

From the main car park there is also the blue warm up loop and the attached red qualifier which in itself is great fun and worthy of a few laps.

  • Blue: Warm-Up – 1.1km, 30 minutes
  • Red: Qualifier – 1.7km, 40 minutes
  • Blue: Hopton Blue – 4.0km, 1 hour
  • Red: Pearce XC – 12.6km, 3 hours
  • Black: DH trails – varied
